After the first event on June 4, the Sargent Art Group was invited to participate again at the La Costa Resort & Spa on July 2. This time there were 8 artists participating and displaying their works. The exhibit included works in acrylics, oil, glicee, mixed media, watercolor, and even murals. These works covered art from pets and nature to abstract.

I displayed several new works I had completed since the last exhibit. These included several new woodblock carvings as well as prints on different types of paper. I will update this post with photos from the event and from my new pieces. Please check back soon! Thank you…

On June 4, 2011 I participated in the La Costa Art Expo, organized by the Sargent Art Group at the La Costa Resort & Spa. I got to meet some great fellow artists, as well as many art lovers that came to visit. The exhibit included works in acrylics, oil, glicee, mixed media, watercolor, woodblock carvings, and hand-painted purses! There was even a mural artist giving a live painting demonstration. The displayed works covered art from pets and nature to abstract.

The Sargent Art Group is composed of over 35 artists living in North County, who are either professional or emerging artists.  The group also contains patrons of the arts.  Many of the members have shown widely in museums and galleries throughout California, the US and Europe.   The founder and “artist emeritus” Ms. J. McNeil Sargent traces her roots to painters John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) and James McNeill Whistler (1834-1903).
